I Will Solo

Solo mining odds calculator — Fast. Private. Transparent.

Bitcoin Calculator

Calculate your chances of finding a Bitcoin block as a solo miner. Fast. Simple. Transparent.

How It Works

🧮

The Math

Your probability of finding a block is proportional to your hashrate vs the total network hashrate. We use P(≥1 block) = 1 − (1 − p)n where n is the number of blocks in the period.

Steps

  • Select your coin above
  • Enter your hashrate in any unit
  • Hit Calculate — results are instant
  • No data is ever sent anywhere
🔒

100% Private

All calculations happen in your browser. No server, no tracking, no account needed. The network stats are based on public data — your numbers never leave your device.

Network Data

I Will Solo is an open tool for solo Bitcoin miners who want to understand their odds of hitting a block based on their hashrate. It's completely static, privacy-focused, and easy to use.

Assumptions & Notes

  • Algorithm: SHA-256
  • Network hashrate: ~928 EH/s
  • Block time: ~10 minutes
  • Network hashrate and difficulty change over time.
  • Results are educational, not financial advice.
  • Solo mining is rare and high-risk — but possible.

FAQ

It is technically possible but extremely unlikely. With the network hashrate exceeding 1,000 EH/s, a single ASIC miner at 100 TH/s would take over 190,000 years on average to find a block. However, each hash has a chance — and lucky solo miners have hit blocks before.
You need an ASIC miner that supports the SHA-256 algorithm, such as the Antminer S21 or similar. GPU and CPU mining are no longer viable for Bitcoin due to the extreme difficulty. You also need solo mining pool software or to run your own Bitcoin full node.
As of 2026, the Bitcoin block reward is 3.125 BTC (after the April 2024 halving). The next halving is expected around 2028. On top of the block subsidy, miners also receive transaction fees included in each block.

It's hard, but not impossible 🎯

Finding a Bitcoin block with a small hashrate is extremely rare — but it's not impossible. Just like winning the lottery or flipping ten heads in a row, statistically improbable events do happen. Every day, someone somewhere gets lucky. Maybe that someone could be you. ⛏️

Event Estimated Odds
Getting struck by lightning in a year 1 in 1,220,000
Flipping 10 heads in a row 1 in 1,024
Being dealt a royal flush in poker 1 in 649,740
Winning the lottery (EuroMillions) 1 in 139,838,160
Being struck by lightning twice in a week 1 in 9,000,000,000 (estimated)
