Solo mining odds calculator — Fast. Private. Transparent.

Monero Calculator

Calculate your chances of finding a Monero block as a solo miner. Privacy-focused mining calculator.

How It Works

🧮

The Math

Your probability of finding a block is proportional to your hashrate vs the total network hashrate. We use P(≥1 block) = 1 − (1 − p)n where n is the number of blocks in the period.

Steps

  • Select your coin above
  • Enter your hashrate in any unit
  • Hit Calculate — results are instant

Network Data

I Will Solo is an open tool for solo Monero miners who want to understand their odds of hitting a block based on their hashrate. Monero uses the RandomX algorithm, which is CPU-friendly and ASIC-resistant.

Assumptions & Notes

  • Algorithm: RandomX
  • Network hashrate: ~5.60 GH/s
  • Block time: ~2 minutes
  • Network hashrate based on RandomX algorithm.
  • Results are educational, not financial advice.
  • Solo mining is rare and high-risk — but possible.

FAQ

Yes! Monero uses the RandomX algorithm, which is specifically designed to be CPU-friendly and ASIC-resistant. Most modern CPUs like the AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel i7 can achieve 5-15 KH/s. While pool mining is more consistent, solo mining is absolutely possible with consumer hardware.
It depends on your hashrate. With a typical CPU at 10 KH/s against a ~6 GH/s network, you would need roughly 600,000 blocks on average, which translates to about 833 days. But Monero has one of the lowest network hashrates among major coins, making solo mining more feasible than most.
Solo mining Monero is a high-risk, high-reward gamble. You either find a full block reward (~0.6 XMR) or nothing. For consistent income, pool mining is better. Solo mining is for those who enjoy the lottery-like odds and want to support network decentralization.

It's hard, but not impossible 🎯

Finding a Monero block with a small hashrate is extremely rare — but it's not impossible. Just like winning the lottery or flipping ten heads in a row, statistically improbable events do happen. Every day, someone somewhere gets lucky. Maybe that someone could be you. ⛏️

Event Estimated Odds
Getting struck by lightning in a year 1 in 1,220,000
Flipping 10 heads in a row 1 in 1,024
Being dealt a royal flush in poker 1 in 649,740
Winning the lottery (EuroMillions) 1 in 139,838,160
Being struck by lightning twice in a week 1 in 9,000,000,000 (estimated)
